| Political
Committee of NACPR meets |
The
first Political Committee meeting of the National
Advisory Council for Peace and Reconciliation was
held on the 1st of November 2004 at the Bandaranaike
Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). Her
Excellency President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga
chaired the meeting. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse,
Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadiragamar, Information
and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Health
and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva were
among those present.

There seems to be general
consensus, we all believe this conflict should end without
a return to hostilities. War is not the option, we should
engage to the maximum, our abilities to seek a political
