Dr Anton
Balasingham, chief negotiator of the LTTE, arrived
in Sri Lanka today (October 15) at 9.30am via Sri
Lankan Airlines flight UL506 from London.
Dr Balasingham was met at the Katunayake International
Airport by the Norwegian Ambassador, Mr Jon Westborg,
and representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Colombo.
Thereafter, he was flown to the Wanni in an Air Force
helicopter. He was accompanied by a representative
of the Secretariat for Co-ordinating the Peace Process.
Dr Balasingham’s visit to Sri Lanka, prior to
the second round of peace talks commencing October
31, is to hold discussions with the LTTE leadership.
Dr Balasingham is accompanied by his wife, Adele.
