The first Political Committee meeting of the National Advisory Council for Peace and Reconciliation was held on the 1st of November 2004 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). Her Excellency President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga chaired the meeting. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadiragamar, Information and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Health and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva were among those present.
