Three soldiers attached to the 233 Brigade in Batticaloa were gunned down at Urani in the Batticaloa district this morning. Eye witness accounts have confirmed that the assassins had fired indiscriminately at the three soldiers. The government strongly condemns this killing of military personnel. At a time when efforts are being made by the government to establish cooperative structures with the LTTE, such open violations of the CFA are specially deplorable.
