Fourth SIHRN meeting

The fourth meeting of the Sub-committee on Immediate Humanitarian and Rehabilitation Needs (SIHRN) will take place 27-28 February 2003 at the SIHRN Secretariat in Kilinochchi.

The government delegation will be headed by Ambassador Bernard Goonetilleke and will include Hon. Rishad Badurdeen (MP), Mr. Dharmasiri Peiris, Mr. P. Maddugoda, Mr. K.W.E. Karaliedde, Mr. M.I.M Rafeek, and Dr. S.H. Hasbulla. The LTTE delegation will be headed by Mr. S.P. Tamilselvan and comprise Dr. Jay Maheswaran and Mr. V. Balakumaran. It will also include Poovannan, Kaushalyan, Tilak and Bava.

The Norwegian Ambassador Jon Westborg will function as the facilitator. The Government of Japan, as the Principal Advisor to the Sub-Committee, will be represented by Ambassador Seiichiro Otsuka and Mr. Kazumi Endo, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan.

Mr Shengman Zhang, Managing Director (Operations) of the World Bank, will be visiting Kilinochchi on Friday 28 February where he will have an opportunity to meet with the members of the sub-committee.
