Thailand caters to Journalists who are scheduled to cover Peace Talks

Thai authorities are busy making arrangements to facilitate the large number of local and foreign Journalists from various parts of the world who are expected to cover the forthcoming peace talks between the Government of Sri Lanka and the LTTE.

Following is the programme for the media:

16-18 September, 2002, Thailand
Monday, September 16
10:30 AM Opening Ceremony (press invited)
Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel (Trad and Chantaburi Rooms)
(All press members must be in the Opening Ceremony Rooms by 10:00 AM. Cameramen and still photographers must proceed to Sriracha Room for equipment security check at 07:30 AM.)

3:00 PM Still photographs and pool picture system images of the delegates in the negotiating room at the Sattahip Naval Base available to the press at the Press Centre (pearl Room).

3:00 - 6:00 First negotiating session

Tuesday, September 17
9:00 AM-12:00 PM Second negotiating session

2:00-5:30 PM Third negotiating session

7:00 PM Delegates' dinner

Wednesday, September 18
9:00 AM-12:00 PM Fourth negotiating session

2:00-2:45 PM

Press Conference
Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel (Trad Room)
(All press members must be in the Press Conference Room by 1:30 PM. Cameramen and still photographers must proceed to Sriracha Room for equipment security check at 12:00 noon.)
