There appears to be some confusion regarding the Government's programme to provide jobs to all Sri Lankan unemployed graduates.

The President wishes to ensure these youth that every single graduate now not employed will be found employment as pledged.

Productive posts in the public sector around the country have been identified, and all unemployed graduates will be found suitable posts.

The Government of Sri Lanka is also deeply concerned that killings continue to be used to deal with political differences, in a context when all communities in the country and the international community have re-iterated their call for political dialogue and peace negotiations.

The Government of Sri Lanka undertakes to fully investigate all such killings, irrespective of the factional identities of the victims and ensure that the law of the land is applied devoid of any discrimination.
