Re: Treaty of Westphalia of 1648.
Today the Westphalian order is in systemic crisis Its principles are being challenged, though an agreed alternative has yet to emerge. Noninterference in the domestic affairs of other states has been abandoned in favour of a concept of universal humanitarian intervention or universal jurisdiction, not only by the United Sates but by many West European countries.Extract from Henry Kissingers Does America need a foreign policy?

I have been living in Canada for 23 years now. I am a Sri-Lanka Tamil from Colombo. Enough is enough. I highly appreciate what PM Ranil Wickremesinghe is trying to achieve. Tamils and Sinhalese have lived together for centuries. Our cultures are inter-linked. Let us unite together and make progress as a nation. Among Many Tamils here there is a profound sense of goodwill towards Sri-Lanka and if everything is settled We are prepared to make investments and contributions towards building the nation. Let's not let narrow minded politicians dictate to us anymore.

Sri Lankans were so non violent, loving and peaceful they were advertised as the most hospitable people in the world. The position changed when people performing "Satyagraha" in 1958 at Galle Face were beaten up and injured under the instigation of Bhikkus. But on 17-9-2003 the NBF Bhikkus themselves have performed "Maha Satyagraha", which is defintely a turning point towrds PEACE. I suggest that NBF apologise to Tamils for the wrong done by Bhikkus for 1958 Satyagraha though I still consider Satyagraha by Bhikkus to influence political decision on IA as CORRUPTION.
They must confine their influence to SPIRITUAL upliftment

Hearing about the disruption that is still going on in SriLanka makes me wonder whether this ceasefire is actually a success. How come the northern part of SriLanaka is controlled by the LTTE?.What is the point of even thinking of peace talks when they have got what they want.A friend of mine who visited Jaffna recently said that going there is like going toa different country as they have their own police, check pionts and all which are run by the LTTE.If somebody could clarify these incidents and see otherwise pls feel free to mail me and let me know.

We all should contribute whatever small we can, towards building PEACE. "Little things seem nothing, but they give peace, like those meadow flowers which individually seem odourless but all together perfume the air". Let us also remember that life is too short to be small. It is important to be loving, forgiving and broadminded to bring fragrance in life of another individual, another community or another nation.
